I'm a 40 something year old guy that over the last 10 years has slowly but surely gained weight. I have never been the type of guy to diet, but after having to go for sleep apnea testing, starting medication to control my high blood pressure, and being 40 pounds overweight, found it was time to do something.

I went to a Body Focus System seminar to hear what they had to say and I was surprised. The Detox is what really got my attention. I had always wanted to try a detox, but did not like the thought of having only liquids or having to drink some crazy mixture that tasted like who knows what.

I decided to sign up and give this "diet" a try. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I did! Let me first tell you about the detox. I started with the fruit detox in August and from the first day there was more to eat than I ever expected. I always assumed a diet would be about eating food you don't like and trying to forget about how hungry you are. With the detox, there were days that I was eating a snack before I was even hungry. I lost over 7 pounds during the detox eating fruits that I like and not feeling hungry at all.

I then moved into the "diet" part of the program and started following the daily menus on the web site. The web site makes it easy for you to put together and print shopping lists, so you don't go crazy trying to make your own. Select the daily menus you want to use, and a list is made for you. The meals are easy to follow and the recipes are simple to prepare. The web site also allows you to see how what you are eating impacts your total calories, fat, and carbohydrates for the day. All you need to do is record what you've eaten throughout the day.

I have now joined a gym and have started exercising 2-3 days a week and I'm feeling better and stronger that I have in years.

This was a real learning experience for me. My meals used to be if it's good and fits on my plate, it's for me. My wife and I have tried a number of the recipes from the site like Cornmeal Pancakes With Applesauce, Feathery Pancakes, Fish With Cucumber Sauce, Honey Roasted Cornish Hens, Vegetable Patties and my favorite, Garlic-Spinach Dip that is almost addicting.

In 2004 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.  Since then, both my level of pain has been on a steady incline.  In 2007, I started taking Cymbalta.  While it was a big help with the pain, it thwarted my attempts to loose weight.  Over the last four years, I have gained more than 25 lbs. and have been unsuccessful with several diet plans.

What can I tell you about this program?

I have tried many different diets, they work - they don’t work - they work, you take the weight off you gain it back. Since I came to Dr. Shah and this program, I lost the weight and I have been maintaining it.

It’s a new way of learning how to eat.  

I never thought about it when you go to the supermarket looking at packages and seeing what’s on it and trying to understand what you are putting in your system but you learn. I mean we constantly look at the small contents; you look at the sugar content.

Not that w'ere starving ourselves, we do eat other things but it’s a different way of life and I can tell you I am maintaining it and I am healthy!

When I started this program, I was way overweight. I will put it this way,  I was wearing a size 44 pair of pants, now I’m down to a size 36. I haven’t had a 36 pants size since I was in junior high and it just feels good that you’re losing the weight.

I took off close to 27 pounds or something like that just everything is just coming off.

It does work; I can honestly say it works! 

When you think about it, the different books that I’ve bought, you try these fad diets you spend $50 for a bottle of pills, you think they’re gonna work, you buy a book for $20 and you think it’s gonna work. You waste a ton of money and you don’t realize it….

For the cost of this program, it’s fantastic!

I mean, it may seem to some people that it’s a lot of money, but no it’s not! Every penny that came out of it, my health is back.
